Short answer: no. Shopify does not have a native launch calendar. There is no single screen in your admin that lays out every scheduled drop, sale, and theme swap on a timeline. You can schedule some things one at a time, but there is no calendar view that shows all of it in one place.
That is the honest version. Now let me show you what Shopify actually does on its own, so you know exactly where the gaps are.
What Shopify schedules natively
Shopify is not helpless here. A few things are built in, and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise.
Products going live. Open a product, go to its Online Store availability, and you can choose Schedule availability for a future date and time. When that moment hits, Shopify publishes the product to that channel for you. It runs on your store's timezone, set under Settings, not the customer's local time.
Discounts. Both code discounts and automatic discounts have start and end date/times. You set them, Shopify turns the discount on and off on schedule. No app required for a plain sale.
So if someone tells you Shopify can't schedule anything, they're wrong. It can. The trouble is what it can't do, and what it never shows you in one view.
Where the gaps actually are
Here is the part people miss. Native scheduling is thin and scattered.
- A scheduled product goes live, but there's no native scheduled unpublish or end time. It goes up on a timer. It comes down by hand.
- It's one product at a time. No native "publish these 30 at once" for a full collection drop.
- The publish doesn't coordinate with anything else. Your price change, your discount, your announcement bar: none of those fire together with the product.
- Collections have no built-in scheduler. There's no "publish this collection Friday at midnight" setting. You build it, leave it unpublished, and flip it live manually at go time.
- Inventory isn't schedulable. No future restock time, no scheduled stock-policy change. You do it when the clock hits.
- Themes and announcement bars have no native scheduling on standard plans. You edit the theme by hand.
None of that lives on a calendar. Each piece sits in its own corner of the admin with its own little date picker, or no picker at all. There is no timeline that says "here is everything happening this Friday at midnight." That's the real answer to the launch calendar question.
Native scheduled publishing and discounts both run on your store timezone from Settings, not each shopper's local time. Shopify does not localize a launch moment per market. If you sell across time zones, plan around that. See launching in different time zones.
But what about Launchpad?
Fair question. Launchpad is Shopify's event-scheduling tool, and it can line up store events like publishing products and collections, theme changes, and discounts around a set time. It's the closest thing Shopify makes to launch orchestration.
Two catches.
First, it's Plus only. If you're on Basic, Shopify, or Advanced, you can't touch it. Most stores reading this can't.
Second, it isn't really a calendar. It schedules events, but it's not a merchant-facing timeline of your whole launch season. It's a scheduler, not a planning board.
So if you're not on Plus, Launchpad isn't your answer. You need something that works on your plan.
How to actually get a launch calendar
If you want one view of every scheduled change plus the ability to fire coordinated launches, that's what Schedule It is built for. It runs on every Shopify plan, including Basic. Think of it as a Launchpad alternative for the rest of us.
Here's what changes when you use it.
- One automation, many actions. Chain a product publish, a price change, a discount, and an announcement bar into a single event that fires together at an exact time. No stitching four separate admin screens.
- End times that actually end. Set an auto-revert. When the sale window closes, the price, the discount, the visibility, all roll back to their previous state on their own. No coming back at midnight to undo things.
- Everything schedulable. Collections, inventory quantity and stock policy, theme publish, announcement bars, metafields, product tags, page locks: all on a timer, server-side.
- A record you can trust. Full execution logs with timestamps and Shopify request IDs, automatic retries on transient errors, and email alerts to your team on completion or failure.
Set it once. Walk away. The server does the work at the exact minute, whether you're awake or not. If you want the deeper walkthrough, read the Shopify launch calendar guide or check the features.
Building a recurring sale like a monthly drop or Black Friday? Save it as a reusable template so next time you set the date and go. No rebuilding the whole event from scratch.
The Free plan covers up to 5 active automations with the core actions. The Growth plan at $9.99/mo bumps that to 25 and adds templates. Full breakdown on the pricing page. No credit card to install.
